Personal Equipment

• Firearms are never to be carried by on-duty EMS personnel

• Firearms shall not be brought into any protected building, including, but not limited to: Fire Stations, Medical Centers or Clinics, Hospitals, etc

• If a firearm is concealed or open carried whilst travelling to or from work, the firearm must be left in a secured container outside of the aforementioned protected building. 

Personnel shall, at all times whilst on-duty, carry the following items on their person unless otherwise stated:

• Radio

• Pen and Pencil

• Notepad

• Issued Credentials

• Flashlight (optional)

• Disposable Surgical Gloves*

• Forward Facing EMS/FD Branded Baseball Cap (optional)

• Stethoscope*

Personnel may don the following items of clothing during climate weather, or as the scene requires them:

• EMS/FD Branded Rescue Helmet*

• High-visibility Vest

• EMS/FD Branded High-visibility Jacket

• EMS/FD Branded Fleece

• Black or Navy Blue Thermal Hat

• Black Wool/Fleece Gloves

• Black "MEDIC" Branded Ballistic Vests

*Note: May don any color variants.

At certain times in the year, personnel may don faction branded event clothing for the duration of the event. These include LSFD and MRSA. 

• Pride Month (June 1st - 30th)  -  Preview

• Breast Cancer Awareness (October 1st - 31st)  -  Preview

• Movemember  (November 1st - 30th)  -  Preview

All vehicles, with the exception of supervisor fly-cars, shall be issued with the following equipment: 

• First Aid Kit 

• Jump Bag 

• Bag Valve Mask

• Cervical Collar

• Stretcher

• Fire Extinguisher 

• Backboard / Spinal Board

• Automated External Defibrillator
