Preamble;

Fire Command Staff; at any time- May inform a member that they're using improper or illegitimate / Out-Of-Policy uniform or appearances on the basis of their reasonability to determine a violation has occurred. A member, will with respectful intuition; shall respect and affirm the given order under any circumstance; and is expected to follow said order to the best of their ability when ordered to comply. Members believing that policy is not being upheld should bring it to the next highest superior thereon. This also applies to facial appearances and other physical demands or traits.

Accessories

BASEBALL CAP. A baseball cap with a curved bill and remaining facing forward over the brow neat in appearance may be worn. It shall be blue in color and display the department seal or 'MAJESTIC COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT'.

SUNGLASSES. Any set of sunglasses may be worn that are not exuberantly bright or attention-grabbing. Glasses must be in a professional appearance.

WATCH. A watch may be worn, but must be taken off if conflictive with uniform requirements or presents a present danger to the member's well-being or to those around them.

GLOVES. Non-Combustable or flame-retardant gloves are acceptable but must be changed to disposable surgical gloves when operating on a patient. Failure to abide may result the gloves being destroyed.

Formal Wear

Shall be Worn only at public events, special occasions, or command team members. 


SHIRT. Black Long sleeve shirt, worn with a tie. Embroidered Nametape and badge 

PANTS. Blue Suit Pants

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

Station Wear

May be worn by members on call, in incidents that do not require PPE; or deemed otherwise by command staff.

Ensure that articles are not clipping, using the incorrect model or texture- and that are not visibly floating.

SHIRT. Long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with an open collar - with white undershirt visible.

Note: Paramedics shall wear a Light Blue Long Sleeve or Short Sleeve Shirt 

DEPARTMENT T-SHIRT. May be worn on-call at station, must be covered by Class B/C or a Brush / Bunker Jacket.

PANTS. Blue Suit Pants, Navy Blue Cargo Shorts, Navy Blue Plain Shorts, or Dark Blue Cargo Pants.

Note: Shorts are only for On-Call at the station, NOT for field incidents. Shorts must not exceed below the knee.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. A handheld radio must be worn.

BANDOLIER RADIO. May be worn at any time and used in replacement of the standard handheld radio.



BALLISTIC VEST; Must be worn on shootings or stabbings. Members may also wear a Ballistic Vest under a Bunker Jacket or otherwise.

BALLISTIC HELMET; Must be worn in active shooter situations, or where a threat of perceived violence is still ongoing. It shall be BLACK in appearance and display 'MEDIC' or 'MCFD'.



BUNKER PANTS. May be worn by members at any time, but is mandatory on structure fires.

REFLECTIVE RAIN JACKET. May be worn by members working in inclement weather; or directing/working in traffic.

FIREMAN'S HELMET. May be worn at any time, but must be worn on Technical Rescues & Fire Incidents.

BRUSH TURNOUT JACKET. May be worn by members on Technical Rescues, but NOT on Fire Suppression related-incidents.

BUNKER TURNOUT JACKET. May be worn by members on Technical Rescues, but MUST be worn on Fire Suppression related-incidents.

HI-VIS VEST. May be worn by members, and shall not be in any color other than green-yellow

Personal Protective Equipment

PPE is required on rescue scenes to protect the wearer from harm. It is made up of Uniform pants, bunker pants, close toed shoes and fire boots, medical gloves, work gloves and helmet.



TURNOUT JACKET. Standard Yellow Bunker Jacket with reflective striping and MCFD writing affixed to rear

PANTS. Standard yellow bunker pants with reflective striping and suitable kneepads

FIREHOOD. Must be in either Charcoal Grey, or White.

Note: If department members are dealing with aN MVA they may opt to wear dress pants providing they are not actively dealing with specialist equipment e.g. Medics, Command

FOOTWEAR. Black in color boots.

FIREMAN'S HELMET. Department-issued Fireman Helmet; The helmet is issued depending on rank or position within the department.

Additional Equipment. Fire Resistant Gloves

Firefighting Personal Protective Equipment

This section covers the quintessential for the use of Fire Protective Equipment. Different from Standardized PPE- FPPE is designed first and foremost as a deterrent to injury of limb or loss of life.


TURNOUT JACKET. Standard Yellow Bunker Jacket with reflective striping and MCFD writing affixed to rear.

Members MUST use the version of their choice with their bunker pants for the sake of continuity.

PANTS. Standard yellow bunker pants with reflective striping and suitable kneepads

FOOTWEAR. Worn fire-resistant boots.

FIREHOOD. Must be in either Charcoal Grey, or White.

FIREMAN'S HELMET. Department-issued Fireman Helmet; helmet is issued depending on rank or position within the department.

ACCESSORIES. Fire Resistant Gloves, EyeShield Protective Goggles

SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS. Silver in color; PharteAir LAC Pro-Self Contained Oxygen Tank.


Note: If department members are dealing with non-structure fires such as wildfires they may opt to wear the brush fire PPE consisting of a brush coat, brush pants and brush helmet, this is not rated for structure fires however, and must be replaced with standardized equipment shown above.
