United States Air Force Fire Protection
Preamble;
Fire Command Staff; at any time- May inform a member that they're using improper or illegitimate / Out-Of-Policy uniform or appearances on the basis of their reasonability to determine a violation has occurred. A member, will with respectful intuition; shall respect and affirm the given order under any circumstance; and is expected to follow said order to the best of their ability when ordered to comply. Members believing that policy is not being upheld should bring it to the next highest superior thereon. This also applies to facial appearances and other physical demands or traits.
Department Preamble:
MEMBER DEFINITION. USAFFP Members are either enlisted or officer-ranked members of the United States Air Force and thus are expected follow both fire department and military doctrine to the letter. Expectations and functions as military personnel are still the same, and shall follow all required orders of high-ranked personnel within their immediate or direct sphere of responsibility. I.E; A low-ranking Airman realistically should follow the orders of high-ranking personnel on-base, and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner deemed acceptable to what standards should be followed.
FD RANKS. All non-supervisory fire members are given the benefit of independent creativity; this given- any fire member is authorized to roleplay up to the rank of an Enlisted Grade FOUR or Senior Airman (SrA). The responsibility of enlisted ranks should be considered equally the same and shouldn't proactively go out of their way to supersede senior members who've prolonged their time in the department. Fire Captains are authorized to roleplay up to the rank of an Enlisted Non-Commissioned Officer Grade SIX, or Technical Sergeant (TSgt). - The responsibilities, purview of each enlisted rank, and such forth can be found here.
FD RANKS (Cont.). Battalion Chiefs are authorized to roleplay up to the rank of Enlisted Senior Non-Commisioned Officer Grade SEVEN, or Master Sergeant (MSgt). Assistant Chief+ are authorized to Senior Master Sergeant (E-8), whilst Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) is reserved exclusively to the Fire Chief themselves.
MEDICAL SERVICES. USAFFP should rely on local county-provided ambulances or Private EMS. In this current state; the U.S Air Force does carry medical rescue ambulances in ALS capacity only, and should focus on their usage of them for on-base issues. However, the USAFFP ambulances may be used on any incident given that it is necessary to resolve an incident or call of service.
Station Wear
May be worn by members on call, in incidents that do not require PPE; or deemed otherwise by command staff.
Ensure that articles are not clipping, using the incorrect model or texture- and that are not visibly floating.
SHIRT. Short sleeve, collared OCP shirt with visible insignia patches of the U.S Air Force.
PANTS. Standard Operational Camouflage Pattern BDUs (OCP), must be bloused at all times.
FOOTWEAR. Coyote Brown Combat Boots; they shall be bloused.
BELT. A handheld radio must be worn.
BANDOLIER RADIO. May be worn at any time and used in replacement of the standard handheld radio.
BALLISTIC VEST; Must be worn on shootings or stabbings. Members may also wear a Ballistic Vest under a Bunker Jacket or otherwise.
Members may also wear a vest with additional pouches with shears and other equipment, or choose to remain blank.
BALLISTIC HELMET; Must be worn in active shooter situations, or where a threat of perceived violence is still ongoing. It shall be BLACK in appearance and display 'MEDIC' or 'USAFFP'.
BUNKER PANTS. May be worn by members at any time, but is mandatory on structure fires.
Note: A tan blank tee-shirt will accompany this. Black worn firefighting boots will also be worn in lieu of the typical standard-issue
REFLECTIVE RAIN JACKET. May be worn by members working in inclement weather; or directing/working in traffic. It shall read 'FIRE' or 'USAFFP'
FIREMAN'S HELMET. May be worn at any time, but must be worn on Technical Rescues & Fire Incidents.
BRUSH TURNOUT JACKET. May be worn by members on Technical Rescues, but NOT on Fire Suppression related-incidents. It shall be blank. and bear no patches belonging to no agency.
BUNKER TURNOUT JACKET. May be worn by members on Technical Rescues, but MUST be worn on Fire Suppression related-incidents. It shall be blank. and bear no patches belonging to no agency.
HI-VIS VEST. May be worn by members, and shall not be in any color other than green-yellow
Firefighting Personal Protective Equipment
This section covers the quintessential for the use of Fire Protective Equipment. Different from Standardized PPE- FPPE is designed first and formost as a deterrent to injury of limb or loss of life.
TURNOUT JACKET. Standard Yellow Bunker Jacket with reflective striping, and with no writing affixed to rear.
Members may choose to either use the worn or the 'clean' version of the pants and jacket.
Members MUST use the version of their choice with their bunker pants for the sake of continuity.
PANTS. Standard yellow bunker pants with reflective striping and suitable kneepads
Members may choose to either use the worn or the 'clean' version of the pants and jacket.
FOOTWEAR. Worn fire-resistant boots.
FIREHOOD. Must be in either Charcoal Grey, or White.
The hood is to be worn, when the collar is snapped together to guarantee a correct protective reflection from fire or contaminants.
FIREMAN'S HELMET. Department-issued Fireman Helmet; helmet is issued the same regardless of position. It shall bear no ranking couple and display the number '10' on both the company mantle and side-facing markers.
ACCESSORIES. Fire Resistant Gloves, EyeShield Protective Goggles
SELF CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS. Silver in color; PharteAir LAC Pro-Self Contained Oxygen Tank.
Oxygen is rated to last anywhere of one or two hours. Realistically, with the movement of motion and exertion- This can easily change from aforementioned, to more of roughly thirty minutes or less.
Note: If department members are dealing with non-structure fires such as wildfires they may opt to wear the brush fire PPE consisting of brush coat, brush pants and brush helmet, this is not rated for structure fires however, and must be replaced with standardized equipment shown above.
Personal Protective Equipment
PPE is required on rescue scenes to protect the wearer from harm. It is made up of Uniform pants, bunker pants, close toed shoes and fire boots, medical gloves, work gloves and helmet.
Upper Torso. Standard Yellow Bunker Jacket with reflective striping and with no visible writing.
PANTS. Standard yellow bunker pants with reflective striping and suitable kneepads
FOOTWEAR. Black in color boots.

Additional Equipment. Fire Resistant Gloves
