202.1 DEAD BODIES
EMS shall ensure that a subject is deceased prior to leaving a scene. When a subject is declared deceased by an EMT, Coroner shall be contacted via the MDT. If no Coroner is available, "County" Coroner may be called to the scene, which refers to roleplaying the body gets collected without human interaction.
The following criteria may be used to declare a subject is deceased:
Checking the rigor of the body - deceased become hard to the touch.
Decapitation
Total Incineration
Pulseless non-breathing in a triage situation
Separation of a major organ incompatible with life
Dependent Lividity (Livor Mortis)
202.2 CIVILIAN RIDE ALONGS
EMS may not conduct civilian ride-alongs without the permission from a on-duty paramedic supervisor. The permission expires after the session ends, or if the on-duty paramedic supervisor goes off-duty, and must be re-requested each time.
Civilians may not have any criminal record.
Civilians are required to sign a waiver in the presence of a paramedic supervisor.
Civilians may not carry firearms on their person during the ride-along
Civilians may not be intoxicated at any point.
Civilians may only observe unless instructed otherwise by their EMT.
These instructions to be verbally explained and confirmed by the Civilian prior to starting the ride-along.
202.3 BOMB EMERGENCIES
EMS may not attend a call for service where there is a high probably of immediate or future harm to their person.
EMS may stage near the area if requested, in a safe and secure environment.
EMS may not approach the scene until it is cleared by the Fire Department or Law Enforcement Personnel.
202.4 MISSING PERSONS
Missing Persons / Search and Rescue calls are handled by the Fire Department and Law Enforcement factions.
EMS may stage in the area of the call for service if requested but not directly take part in the search unless a volunteer effort is set up by either department.
