802.1 Collapse Rescues Introduction
A ‘’ Structural Collapse ‘’ operation happens during a natural disaster or when a building collapses. During this type of rescue, the crew and other accompanying units mobilize to search through rubble and debris for possible victims that may be trapped. During this operation US&R K-9 and Air Ops may be helping for the efficiency of the operation.
802.2 Collapse Rescues Walkthrough
During a structural collapse there might be victims trapped under debris or rubble, that’s why we would have multiple specialized units responding such as, US&R, US&R K-9, Heavy Rescue and air ops for possible med evac. During this operation US&R crew and K-9 Crew would be assigned on search and rescue through the rubble, this meaning that they would have the canine unit try to find victims, US&R would also utilize tools such as drills, confined space cameras, cribbing, rescue jacks etc. Heavy Rescue’s job would be dealing with very heavy objects, rubble or debris. Air ops would be taking in critical patients.
