1104 - Deputy Fire Chief
There are a maximum of 2 Deputy Fire Chiefs which manage and control the overall activities of the department. They are considered a part of Department Command Staff. Deputy Fire Chief is a position that is appointed by the Fire Chief.Â
Responsibilities include:
Responding to extreme emergencies as dispatched and assuming command on the scene.
Implementation of Department programs and policies.
Ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
Evaluating the status and readiness of the department.
Acting in the position of Chief Fire Marshal to enforce the Fire Code.
Supervising the activities of the Divisions.
Act as a sitting member of Professional Standards Internal Investigations Unit.
Creating new policies for the department.
Investigate reports against department supervisors.
Investigate incidents involving department supervisors where injury, death, or property damage has occurred.
Administer supervisor conduct.
Liaison with command teams from other public services.
Staff capabilities:
Issue warnings.
Issue suspensions.
Fire individual characters.
Issue warnings to Department Supervisors.
Issue suspensions to Department Supervisors.
Fire individual supervisor characters.
Update department personnel conduct portfolio.
