1001: Special Operations Overview
1001.1 Emergency Operations Bureau
Air Operations - responsible for search and rescue, medical evacuation, and aerial fire attack.
Marine Operations - Swift Water Rescue, boat unit, underwater dive unit.
CRASH Rescue
1001.2 Disaster Response Section
Urban Search and Rescue (USaR) - technical rescue including collapse rescue and high angle rescue.
Wildland Fuel Management Unit - dozer teams, prescribed burns, UAV unit, brush clearance inspectors.
CBRN and HazMat - Hazardous Materials, JHAT, Bomb Squad
1001.3 Homeland Security
Arson - Counter Arson-Terrorism Section, SanFire Law Enforcement and Arson/Bomb Unit, Firearms, Alcohol, Tobacco National Response Team
Tactical EMS - LSFD Tactical medics, Private EMS TEMS
Command Post Unit - responsible for the mobile command center.
1001.4 Administration
Community Liaison Section - Public Information Office, Risk Management Unit
Professional Standards Division - Internal Investigations Unit
Training and Support Unit - Training and Recruitment Division, Supply and Maintenance Division.

1001. 5 Supervision
Each Captain/Battalion Chief is responsible for supervising a special division. They may run trainings, supervise and organize emergency incidents involved in that scene, and help educate individuals who are not following the operation's standard operating procedure. Any operation not supervised by a Captain or Battalion chief is under the direct supervision of the fire chief.
