The Vehicle Structure is set out to inform firefighters of the regulations and uses of vehicles in each and every Department.
All firefighters shall treat the Vehicle Structure as an extension of the manual, and so purposefully violating regulations set out in the Vehicle Structure shall be treated as a policy violation.
The Department utilizes vehicles with performance packages. Therefore, vehicles weighing less than 8,000 pounds may be installed with Engine, Transmission and Brake upgrades.
The rule in 301.3 OTHER VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS regarding the prohibition of vehicle modifiers shall remain.
No Department vehicles shall be modified outside of the use of regulation-following extras (found in Vehicle Structure).
Some examples of vehicle modifications which are not allowed include, but are not limited to:
Changing the paint colour (unless explicitly required and listed in the Vehicle Structure);
Using any other visual modification such as different wheel types, underglow, etc.; and,
Using vehicle modifiers.
