301: Vehicle Structure

• The Vehicle Structure is set out to inform firefighters of the regulations and uses of vehicles in each and every Department.

• All firefighters shall treat the Vehicle Structure as an extension of the manual, and so purposefully violating regulations set out in the Vehicle Structure shall be treated as a policy violation.

• The Department utilizes vehicles with performance packages. Therefore, vehicles weighing less than 8,000 pounds may be installed with Engine, Transmission and Brake upgrades.

• The rule in 301.3 OTHER VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS regarding the prohibition of vehicle modifiers shall remain.

No Department vehicles shall be modified outside of the use of regulation-following extras (found in Vehicle Structure).

Some examples of vehicle modifications which are not allowed include, but are not limited to:

• Changing the paint colour (unless explicitly required and listed in the Vehicle Structure);

• Using any other visual modification such as different wheel types, underglow, etc.; and,

• Using vehicle modifiers.
